today we went to faris' house to do the model. only 5 of us went. me, malcolm, jin rong, faris and jia hui. jun hao didn't come.
The playground would be an indoor one as the room is air-conditioned. The entrance would be located at the front. Right in front of the entrance, there will be a bridge linked to the room meant or toys speciallly designed for children below 6 years and an arch. A swing is built in front of the arch and it is meant for the playground users to swing across the river of plastic balls. For wheel-bound children who want to cross the river, they may want to wheel on the ramp at the extreme end of the room. The river would be deep at the extreme right of the river so as to provide some thrill to the older and bigger users while the extreme left of the river would be shallow, specially designed for children of ages 2 to 5 years old. After crossing the river, the children would find a tree-house in the middle of the playground. There will be a slide and a monkey bar attached to the tree-house's base. There will be a game called "search-it". The objective of the game is to find the particular ball that has the alphabet mentioned by the host of the game which will be near the end of the monkey bars. The game can only begin in a very big cage full of plastic balls. Each ball has an alphabet written on it. For example, the host of the game says the letter 'L'. The players will only then start the game by diving into the cage.
If you don't want to read this, at least have sympathy to these children..
Children with non-contagious,but terminal illlness Often the first response to the presence of a child in a terminal situation is to somehow shield or "protect" the child from the realities of the situation. Attempts to completely completely shield children from terminal illness are futile because children nearly always sense that something is very wrong. These attempts are counterproductive because the understanding that something is very wrong leads to attempts on the part of the child to determine what is wrong. It is difficult to tell a child that a loved one is terminally ill, but even more difficult to later on tell the child that the death occurred - especially if the child was unprepared. For obvious reasons most parents would rather avoid than deal with this issue. In most cases, it is best to simply sit down with the child and tell him or her in terms that are understandable to that particular child first that there is some bad news, second what is expected to happen in general terms, and third, who will stay with the child and other key reassurances. Children grieve deep and hard - but do not necessarily express the grief like adults. Children may have the same sense of unreality; feel the same sadness, the same despair, the same guilt, the same ambivalence; have the same abdominal pain, shortness of breath, trouble sleeping - but they go quietly to their rooms, or play, or become "behavior problems," "act out," "develop problems in school, or in some other way, live and struggle with the grief.
SAVE THE WORLD!!
Eco-friendly materials Approximately one tire is discarded per person per year. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports 290 million scrap tires were generated in 2003. These tires are among the largest and most problematic sources of waste, due to the large volume produced and their durability. Those same characteristics which make waste tires such a problem also make them one of the most re-used waste materials, as the rubber is very resilient and can be reused in other products. Through a special process, tires can be chopped into small pieces and the metal removed. The resulting products include crumb rubber (also known as ground rubber).
